The highlight of this week was undoubtedly Wednesday’s Awards Presentation Day, when we welcomed back our 2017 leavers to celebrate their achievements in their A level examinations. We are always delighted to hear how well they are doing and we wish them all every success for the future.

Our guest speaker was an inspirational young man, former elite gymnast and aspiring stuntman, Jay Young, who broke his neck during a routine dress rehearsal at Legoland Windsor in early 2011. Jay retold the events of his tragic accident and challenges of living life as a quadriplegic, following various operations and eleven months of gruelling physiotherapy. His modesty and openness were powerful, humbling, and overwhelmingly inspiring and no doubt left those present re-evaluating their own goals, inner strength and values.

Congratulations to all of our award winners – you have demonstrated your ability to stand out from the crowd through your hard work, commitment and determination.

Thank you to staff, students and community members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and which contributed to the success of the day. The graduation lunch was appreciated as always. Thank you very much to you all for supporting the event. Your generous donations will goes towards the cost of the awards and the event itself. Any further donations would be gratefully received (cheques to be made payable please to ‘Wessex Schools Trust’).

Good luck to all our leavers – we wish you well with whatever the future holds.
