On Wednesday afternoon, we welcomed Liz Froud  a community fundraiser from Wiltshire’s arm of Julia’s House who provided us with an insight of what they do in the care of disabled and terminally ill children.

The charity started work in Dorset 13 years ago, with their first hospice, providing play opportunities for sick children and their siblings as well as respite opportunities for their parents. The charity has grown over time and now works with around 100 families in Dorset. Now they are putting the finishing touches to their new hospice for Wiltshire, which will open in May in Devizes, to give enjoyment and relaxation opportunities to the 40 Wiltshire families that they currently support.

Following fundraising in KS2 in the last academic year, a delighted Liz received our cheque for £1,413.40. The money will go towards the fitting out of the new Devizes hospice.
