In celebration of this year’s National Poetry day, our Lower School teachers put together a fantastic learning experience for our younger students. Using the school’s house system to group our students, Mrs Easton, Mrs Maddocks, Miss Hall and Mrs Hunjan, organised and led some inspiring, and sometimes energetic, poetry sessions.
Our students had the opportunity to learn about some famous poets, write their own poems (that conformed to some very specific and tricky poetic styles, such as Haiku) and even had a chance to perform, as a group, some very exciting and lively poems. I was lucky enough to observe some of the sessions and felt privileged to share in the students’ enjoyment and creativity. Well done to all involved!
