Well done to Sharlene Cowley and Rose Barter for their great effort in raising a total of £524 for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which helps to make life better for seriously ill children. Money raised helps pay for the nurses who treat such children.
Sharlene and Rose chose to support the charity as part of their Citizenship GCSE coursework as they were interested in understanding more about what the charity did. The girls raised the money by securing sponsorship for not eating chocolate for a two week period whilst students in Year 6 did a pound stretcher exercise.
The girls visited the charity’s main office near London to present the cheque.
