U4Y (Miss Lassetter’s group) and U9G (Mr Colley’s group) took part in a number of events during the school’s ‘Citizenship Day’ on Wednesday 17th October 2017. They kicked off the day with an hour long debate on refugees, arguing their points for and against having high numbers of refugees in the UK. Some great discussions and points were raised and responses were well constructed based around employment, financial implications, basic health care, human rights and culture.

Students also took part in a number of sporting fundraising activities where U4Y triumphed overall. Both groups had to donate money and food to the Trussell Trust in order to take part. The Trussell Trust then collected the food and gift items on the day after it had been organised and boxed by the two groups.

A letter of thanks from the Trust can be found here.
