Year 3 have been looking at how crime and punishment has developed over a chronological timeline, from Roman, through Anglo-Saxon and on to Tudor times. By comparing and contrasting punishments, they have found that some remained the same and many became far more torturous! They have been surprised by the harshness of punishments for such minor crimes, and the difference between how rich and poor citizens were treated. Will the Victorians’ punishments be any less brutal? We will find out in due course!
Having prepared presentations for their peers, they enjoyed an afternoon of DT to make models of some of the equipment used during punishments.
