Year 5 are studying the history of China and modern day China this term. As part of this, in Art lessons, they are busy creating a terracotta army. These photographs show work in progress! At the beginning of the project Mrs King kindly came and gave us all some instruction in handling clay and constructing figures so that they have the best chance of surviving the firing process. However, if some of them should sustain damage in the kiln, it will only serve to make them more realistic as many of the Chinese terracotta warriors were in a less than perfect state when they were discovered.
